You will be part of a diverse team focused on defining and executing process optimization & technology development projects within the cell and gene therapy & regenerative medicine fields. You will provide hands-on expertise in human cell culture and processing and will be responsible for overseeing the design and prototyping of innovative tools, technologies, and processes to address cell manufacturing workflow challenges. Essential Responsibilities:
•Engage external customers and internal partners to understand and overcome cell and gene
therapy workflow challenges.
•Use your expertise in cell culture and cell processing to design, optimize and execute standard
•Work closely with biologists and biomedical/bioprocess engineers in the development of new cell
therapy processes and products to overcome cell and gene therapy industry challenges.
•Drive effective communication across the organization and leadership team.
•Work with leadership to identify and prioritize future project opportunities.
•Identify, evaluate and recommend new and existing processes, novel technologies and improved
•Demonstrate continuous integrity, credibility, and positivity and motivate others to do the same.

•Design experiments in a hypothesis-driven manner to validate experimental predictions. Qualifications/Requirements:
•Ph.D., Master’s with 6+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s with 10+ years of experience with a
degree in biomedical/bioprocess engineering, chemical engineering, biology, immunology, or a
•Experience in conceiving, developing and independently carrying out a wide range of experiments
and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
•Familiarity with CL1/CL2 lab procedures, aseptic technique, safety procedures, and equipment,
preferably in a cGMP environment.
•Competent in mammalian cell culture including passaging, isolation, expansion and

•Excellent English written and oral communication with strong record-keeping and documentation

•Experience culturing and processing a variety of primary human cell types
•Familiarity with bioreactors and scale-up/out cell processing technologies.
•Experimental software expertise using DOE (e.g. JMP, minitab), engineering (Matlab) or
statistical (SAS, R, SPSS) software.
•Experience with advanced process modelling, data analysis and programming.
•Experience with fundamental analytical techniques in biology such as ELISA, flow cytometry
Western blotting, qPCR, cell quantitation, and other relevant analytical techniques.
•History of successful biological or chemical assay development.
