Provide customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of their system. Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

The Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is an entry level position within Rockwell Automation that provides a great opportunity for newly established professionals to continually learn and expand on the knowledge gained in formal education.

The EIT will spend the first 6-9 months of employment undergoing product and service training in Cleveland Ohio to prepare for deployment to the field.

* Candidate must be eligible to travel into the USA for training

Working assignments during training may include:

o Sservice support
o Installation support
o Product and systems start-up services
o Troubleshooting and repair services
o Customer training
o Ability to speak & write fluent English

After deployment to the field the Engineer-In-Training is responsible for assisting customers in the resolution of problems they may encounter during the application, integration or maintenance of the equipment.

This assistance may be to:

o Provide on-site installation of Allen-Bradley and Rockwell product lines
o Identify and correct hardware equipment failures, software discrepancies, or programming problems
o Provide instruction on proper use, application, operation and maintenance of the system
o Isolate and identify failures with associated equipment not supplied by Rockwell Automation.
o Conduct product and solutions training sessions and classes for customers and peers as

These are the minimum qualifications that a candidate must possess in order to be successful:

o College Diploma or Technologist Diploma – Engineering, Electrical Technologist, Electronics or related discipline.
o Possess a sound knowledge of industrial codes and standards.
o Highly developed interpersonal skills.
o Excellent commercial & customer relation skills.
o Strong ability to multi-task and work independently under pressure.
o Willingness to carry on-call pager according to a rotational schedule.
o Ability to problem solve and respond to standard situations.
o Ability to speak & write fluent English.

Desired Qualifications:

These are qualifications that we would ideally like to see a candidate possess:

o Undergraduate University Degree – Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or other related discipline.
o Oneyear field applications and technical customer service experience.
o Technical experience with industrial control applications.
o Engineering experience with programmable controls, numeric controls, alternating current and direct current drives (AC & DC) and other forms of motor controls.
o Knowledge of Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation product lines.
o Experience working with safety and medium voltage products.
o Strong knowledge of industrial networks such as DeviceNet, ControlNet, or Ethernet IP.
o Ability to work together with multiple business groups and in a team environment.
o Good problem solving skills.
o Ability to adapt and function in diverse situations.
