Provide customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of their system. Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
The Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is an entry level position within Rockwell Automation that provides a great opportunity for newly established professionals to continually learn and expand on the knowledge gained in formal education.
The EIT will spend the first 6-9 months of employment undergoing product and service training in Cleveland, Ohio to prepare for deployment to the field.
After deployment to the field, the Engineer-In-Training is responsible for assisting customers in the resolution of problems they may encounter during the application, integration or maintenance of the equipment.
•Service and installation support.
•Product and systems start-up services.
•Troubleshooting and repair services.
•Provide on-site installation of Allen-Bradley and Rockwell product lines.
•Identify and correct hardware equipment failures, software discrepancies, or programming problems.
•Provide instruction on proper use, application, operation and maintenance of the system.
•Isolate and identify failures with associated equipment not supplied by Rockwell Automation.
•Conduct product and solutions training sessions and classes for customers and peers as required.
•Relocation assistance may be considered.
•Candidate must be eligible to travel into the USA for training.
•College Diploma or Technologist Diploma – Engineering, Electrical Technologist, Electronics or related discipline.
•Possess sound knowledge of industrial codes and standards.
•Highly developed interpersonal skills.
•One year experience working with commercial customers to answer questions or resolve concerns.
•Strong ability to multi-task and work independently under pressure.
•Willingness to carry on-call pager according to a rotational schedule.
•Ability to speak & write fluent English.

•Undergraduate University Degree – Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or other related discipline.
•One year field applications and technical customer service experience.
•Technical experience with industrial control applications.
•Engineering experience with programmable controls, numeric controls, alternating current and direct current drives (AC & DC) and other forms of motor controls.
•Knowledge of Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation product lines.
•Experience working with safety and medium voltage products.
•Strong knowledge of industrial networks such as DeviceNet, ControlNet, or Ethernet IP.
