What You'll Do

As a Cost Management Specialist for John Deere Power Systems in Waterloo, Iowa, you will support acquiring the most cost effective engine products while working closely with Global Supply Management and Engineering teams within the division. In addition you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support new and current product cost goals by providing cost analysis, facilitate cost-focused project and reviews, and develop cross-functional plans to mitigate cost gaps.
  • Actively participate in and promote cost culture through the early design stages of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) process while implementing Target Cost Management (TCM) strategies.
  • Utilize cost reduction Should Cost tools like Regression analysis, and Excel to provide cost analysis.
  • Assist in supplier negotiations by using information based on quote analysis, cost models, and cost drivers.
  • Utilize cost management methodologies and tools while providing Cost Reduction Leadership.
  • Complete cost analysis on PCA's (Price Change Application).
  • Maintain and reconcile cost projects in Cost Management Systems (CMS) and Project Trackers.

What It Takes

We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a cross functional team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain Management, Accounting/Finance, Engineering/Technology related discipline or equivalent experience. In addition we require:
  • Supply Management knowledge and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
A strong candidate will also have a background in engineering as well as experience with the following:
  • SAP material cost transactions.
  • Advanced statistical analysis.
  • Pro/E 3D modeling software.
  • Successful project management in a cross functional team environment.
