The role you'll contribute:   

Provides specialized cardiovascular care, while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort. Performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment and evaluates patient response to diagnostic cardiac procedures. Proficient in the operation and maintenance, as specified by the manufacturer, of all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used for procedures in the specific area of operation.

 

The value you'll bring to the team:  

  • Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physician.
  • Performs specialized testing using computer assisted devices including, but not limited to TEE, Stress Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echo’s. Cross trained to perform EKG’s, Treadmills, and Holter monitors as needed.
  • Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration of machines.
  • Maintains high skill level through participation in CQI, in services, ongoing education, and attendance at 80% of staff meetings.
  • Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy.
  • Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient response by informing primary health care team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED             
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association.
  • Currently registered at American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or via CCI as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).

Preferred:

  • One year of experience in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography).
  • Graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science (including but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) OR graduate of a programmatically accredited program in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography is strongly preferred).
