The Government Relations Intern will learn the roles and responsibilities within the Government Relations Division of Corporate Legal. During the internship, the intern will be provided training, exposure to various project-based assignments, and a diverse experience across the Bank to help them succeed. They will work with a team that provides advice-based solutions. Our Government Relations team provides support and guidance to a variety of stakeholders within the organization.

Position Responsibilities
  • Gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
  • Develop business, financial and analytical skills needed for career in government relations and financial services.
  • Conduct research and provide updates regarding pending legislation relevant to the banking industry.
  • Assist in development of PAC solicitation materials and PAC disbursements.
  • Provide input regarding departmental organization, tracking mechanisms, and information collection and storage.
  • Complete project-based assignments under the supervision of members of the Corporate Legal division.
  • Conduct research on 2020 elections for use in customer presentations.

Qualifications
  • College Level Junior or Senior
  • Previous experience working for a state or federal legislator (preferred)
  • Demonstrated interest in working in the financial services industry
  • 3.0 (GPA) overall grade point average or better (GPA will be calculated by using grades for all credit hours/classes that are applied towards degree including transferred credits)
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
