Work Hours/Shift:

Full-Time, Monday – Friday

 

You Will Be Responsible For:

·               Defines the content, scope, and estimations.  Works with the business to define the agreed content of a sprint.  Facilitates the creation of user stories with the team.  Leads planning and estimation.

·               Leads the cross-functional delivery team.  Coordinates daily stand up to ensure projects are on time and on budget.  Coordinates with the system engineering teams to secure the necessary development and test systems are in place.  Ensures the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.

·               Determines, manages, and improves the delivery velocity and quality of the team’s outputs.  Tracks and communicates team velocity and sprint/release progress to all impacted teams and leaders.  Tracks and manages risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.  Ensures on-time delivery of projects using Agile methodology, managing key project tracking assets such as ‘Burn Down’ charts.  Runs project retrospectives to correct the process.  Serves as escalation point for team on project concerns and conflicts, identifying and removing obstacles that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal.  Supports new feature and product launch.  Ensures team writes clear, readable, testable, and maintainable code.  Ensures team writes test scripts for automated testing.

·               Coaches, mentors, and collaborates with stakeholders.  Facilitates ‘show & tell’ sessions to play the sprint outputs back to the key stakeholders.  Serves as coach on Agile methodology and processes to leaders and employees in the organization.  Plays a key role in communicating and incorporating key principles such as user-centered design, agile delivery, and quality management.  Provides coaching and guidance to Agile teams.  Assists in deploying new product development processes and in facilitating continuous improvement of existing processes.

·               Identifies, secures, and allocates resources as required, including identifying areas where the delivery team needs architecture and design support.

 


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

·         Proficiency with project management tools and/or software packages

·         Proficiency in establishing project management processes

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Information Technology departments and operational customers and/or departments

·         Proficiency in operational and technical project management skills

·         Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or Healthcare related field AND five years of project management experience, OR seven years of project management experience

·         Experience in delegation management

·         Experience in mentoring project managers and associate project managers

·         Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

·         Experience as a Scrum Master

·         Experience in synthesizing complex or diverse project data and/or information

·         Experience in managing diverse teams and delivering complex projects

 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

·         Scrum master certification (via Scrum Alliance) or PMI Agile certification (via Project Management Institute).

 

Summary:

The Scrum Master is responsible for applying professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead project teams and control project schedule, cost, and performance risks.  Has ultimate responsibility for all assigned MIS agile development projects and manages customer satisfaction, definition, planning, monitoring, and other aspects of a MIS project.  Is responsible for all development activities for an agreed work stream. Coordinates the design, build, and testing activities for a series of Agile sprints, managing a cross functional team of Analysts, Developers, Testers, and System Engineering resources.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
