The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth North Pinellas

The role you’ll contribute:

The Point of Care Coordinator is a medical laboratory scientist responsible for the oversight of hospital Point of Care Testing (POCT) (non-waived) in accordance with State and Federal regulations and accreditation standards.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

•Ensures the Quality Management of the POCT program is maintained in adherence to applicable regulations and accreditation standards.

•Maintains POCT policies and procedures.

•Maintains self-competencies required to oversee the POCT program.

•Represents the AdventHealth Laboratory department in a manner consistent with supervisory responsibility in patient, employee, visitor, and physician interactions.

•Ensures all testing personnel have required training and competency assessment maintained and appropriately documented.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related science

•Two years clinical laboratory experience

 

PREFERRED:

•Five Years Laboratory Experience, including a minimum of two years in a POCT environment

 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION:

Please be advised that all licenses and certifications listed are not required. If you only have one or some of those listed, you may still be eligible for this position.

 

REQUIRED:

•State Medical Technologist License in all five specialties as applicable to state

•Must hold a national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist such as ASCP, AAB, or AMT unless grandfathered per state requirement

AdventHealth North Pinellas

About the area
Tarpon Springs is a small community in Pinellas County, Florida. It is best known for its Sponge Docks on the Anclote River, which contain natural sponge beds that first attracted Greek sponge divers to the area. The Greek community is still very prominent in Tarpon Springs, as can be witnessed by the authentic Greek cuisine and souvenir shops located throughout the city. Tarpon Springs is a historic Florida town that is sure to give you a taste of Greece.
