HF-Monitor Tech

Description
The Monitor Technician functions under the direction of the Director, Clinical Coordinator and/or Charge Nurse.  This position is responsible for constant surveillance of the central telemetry monitor station for identification and documentation of patient telemetry monitor patterns and interpretation.  The Monitor Technician has responsibility to notify assigned nurses of patients’ cardiac monitor rhythm and any changes that require immediate or planned intervention.  

Responsible for issuing, receiving and cleaning monitoring equipment to hospital staff during assigned shift.  Accurately maintains telemetry log during assigned shifts. 

Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or GED certificate. EMT and/or equivalent acute care, clinical experience preferred. At least one year of hospital telemetry monitoring experience preferred.
  • Basic ECG Course Completion preferred.
  • Must achieve score of 80% or higher on Basic ECG Interpretation Assessment within 7 days of hire.
