Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:


Facilities patient flow into exam rooms in a timely manner according to the schedule
  • Provides basic nursing care within the Nursing Assistants scope of practice in an out-patient wound care setting

  • Obtains Vital Signs and weights
  • Assists with treatments as instructed by the RN

  • Cleans and prepares patient exam/treatment rooms between visits and at the end of each clinic

  • Manages the patient flow by: coordinating the room type selected with the patient need and the schedule, directing the physicians and clinical staff to the needs of the patients in conjunction with the schedule, advising the clinicians and physicians when patient wait times exceed the goal, and assisting the clinical staff when needed

  • Manages the supplies in the exam room by daily restocking

  • Collects and prepares instruments for transport to the hospital for sterilization

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols

  • Completes documentation per organizational/departmental policy

  • Ensures safe and efficient use of equipment; troubleshooting malfunctions and following procedures for repair

  • Attends departmental and hospital required in-services, staff meetings, and training programs

  • Performs other duties as assigned within the Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice

  • Reports to work as scheduled and completes work within designated time




Qualifications





What You Will Need:

  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification

  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program

  • 1 or more years related experience preferred
  • Completion of Hyperbaric training preferred


 


 


 


 


Job Summary:


The Wound Care Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is accountable for performing routine care under the direction of the RN. S/he provides for the comfort of the patient and communicates according to protocol.


 


The CNA is responsible for acting as a role model for the mission, and patient promise of AdventHealth Hospital Zephyrhills.  S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of the regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilizes other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice.  S/he critically evaluates evidence for application to clinical practice in his / her area of practice.
