Work Hours/Shift:
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Coordinates departmental activity, direction, requirements with Medical Director of the Emergency Department.
- Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure that appropriate intervention, documentation occur and that patient needs are provided for.
- Participates in collaborative efforts with departmental managers, administrative representatives in performance improvement activities, strategic planning, and patient care issues.
- Maintains records pertinent to personnel and operation of the department. Prepares reports regarding Emergency Department services. Assures documentation meets current standards and policies.
- Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
QualificationsWhat You Will Need:
- 4-year Baccalaureate Degree
- Two or more years experience
- Current CPR within one month of hire.
- ACLS within six months of hire
- PALS within one year of hire
- TNCC within one year of hire
- Cardiac dysrhythmia class within 90 days of hire or demonstrates proficiency in cardiac rhythm recognition
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 6 months of hire
- RN
Job Summary:
Responsible for direction of patient care activities in the Emergency Department. Manages staff in the Emergency Department, provides management of operational and nursing activities. Consults with staff, physicians, and the Nurse Executive on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met.
