The Medium Voltage Business Test Engineer (T.E.) will have overall responsibility for the test facility power distribution and equipment infrastructure, including daily support and long range capacity/functionality planning. In addition, the T.E. will be integral in new product development projects and will ensure testing preparedness upon manufacturing release of new products. This includes availability of all special test equipment, tools, training, procedures and power levels. The T.E. will also participate in assessing special customer test requirements, determining feasibility and providing guidance in executing such special tests.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting Medium Voltage systems and equipment.
Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products, and specific customer test requirements.
Plans the equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
Assist and provide technical support for medium Voltage testing Globally.
Reviews customer test specifications determine test plan and equipment required and cost estimates.
Design and implement PCB testing equipment and programs.
Develop Capital plan for test equipment for upgrades and new products.
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering major preferred.
Applicants who have an Electrical Technologist Diploma (C.E.T) and specific hands-on Medium Voltage VFD Testing, Commissioning and Engineering Experience may be considered based on qualifications.
A minimum of five years working experience in engineering manufacturing environment or Field Engineering with medium voltage power distribution and variable frequency drives.
Professional Designation (P.Eng) preferred.
Demonstrated lean proficiency.
