The Global Product Manager-Contactors and GEO Product Manager Disconnects and Isolators is responsible for managing groups of major product lines and associated personnel to include product planning, forecasting, strategic product marketing and commercial marketing for those assigned products within regions of responsibility. This is in coordination with the Global Disconnect and Isolator product manager (EMEA) for those respective products. Ensure the appropriate performance of assigned product lines in terms of market share and gross margin, and the identification and implementation of new product requirements. Act as GEO (Geographic Product Manager) for Disconnect and Isolator products in America’s
Identify and quantify new products, market and business opportunities for products which are synergistic with existing products and distribution channels.
Lead responsibility for assigned products in documenting strategies, utilization of resources, impact on business results and action plans required to ensure business unit objectives are achieved for these products.
Work with Regional Product Manager to identify and work with all possible sources for the right new products, including brand labeling, licensing and acquisition as well as in-house product development. In Geo (Geographic Product Manager) role, serve as a region expert and coordination point for disconnects and isolators..
Maintain knowledge of trends in state-of-the-art technologies, standards, codes and legal requirements to ensure that assigned products best meet these requirements.
Assist Global Product Manager with product migrations/ transitions in America’s. (Disconnects and Isolators)
Provide input to planning to obsolete products as required as part of ongoing product strategies, to ensure the most effective use of our manufacturing resources in providing the required product spectrum. Provide analysis as required for regional areas of responsibility.
Ensure that forecasts are provided for all new and existing products within his responsibility such that Production can effectively plan and meet the Business Unit's sales requirements in regions of responsibility.
Use of business systems to implement, maintain and manage the product line.
In coordination with Business Team Leader and Engineering Manager, establish priorities for new product introductions, and Lean projects.
Effectively communicate with Commercial marketing teams, Sales and Regional Product Manager to present products in regions of responsibility. Be a focal point of communications within regions of responsibility for the assigned products. Be a focal point for Engineering teams in Switzerland and USA in new product developments.
Coordinating with the Regional Product Manager, seek out and implement cost reductions as part of the product strategies.
Ensure control and implementation of commercial issues including pricing, negotiations and promotion of assigned products
Provide market surveys and analysis to guide the desired product specifications on new products and for line extenders to maintain the effectiveness of existing product lines.
Role is estimated to have 20% travel to accomplish the above.
Bachelors degree in engineering
Minimum 3 years experience with product marketing and a close familiarity with the functions of development, production, application, sales and distribution.
Direct experience in formulating, producing and implementing strategic planning.
Good working knowledge of international, national and trade standards and practices of the industry.
Experience in use of commercial practices of our industry with regard to pricing distribution etc.
